A dropside van as the name suggests, has sides that are generally made from aluminium that can be dropped for easy loading and unloading. Payloads range from just over a tonne to a whopping 1600 KG for a MWB Toyota Dyna New Shape. The load bed it'sself is generally made from steel, and this can be cushioned with a little plylining just for wear and tear. This way you get lightness and rust resistance, which will obviously be a factor when carrying stones etc. Generally the bulkhead behind the driver is suitable for carrying ladders, scaffolding, piping whatever, up to 100-200 KG in weight.
